GO!

Here we go!  It's the beginning of the race. . . picture yourself in the group
of 400,000 APUSH students heading for the finish line on May 15, 2013!

I'm really excited that our summer classes are beginning tonight!  Because the class is small and the atmosphere is relaxed, there will be plenty of time to get to know you all better. . . starting now:

This Week's Question:  If you could time travel through America's history, where and when would you go? Why? (Think about what you'd want to see or who you'd want to talk to.)

  1. If I could time travel through America's history, I would go to the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Independence Hall. I would attend this event in history because I would want to witness the colaboration of many of the great minds in our history. As cliche as it sounds, I would especially want to talk to George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin. This would be interesting because I would be able to see how they really were in person and how they acted. This would be important to me because they our America's founding fathers, and the way they were would be interesting.

  3. I would travel to the 1200s when the Amerindians were flourishing and the wildlife remained mostly untouched. I would specifically like to visit a cherokee village in a forest. There would be so much to study. The tactics of hunting and learning their philosophies on the world and life. Another idea would being able to see the great American Bison and deer that are scarce today.

  4. I would go back to 1492 and I would want to sail with Columbus. I would want to talk to the sailors and ask how they were feeling about sailing into unknown waters. I would want to go back to this time period because I like to explore and I am adventurous. I would like to explore a new continenet and see the Natives and their ways of life. Will Topping.

  5. I would love to travel back in time to the last year of the Revolutionary War. I would want to be in the midst of the soldiers under the leadership of the great General Washington, fighting for our freedom in the last few, key battles that sealed the freedom and liberty of our nation. I especially would like to experience the final battle at Yorktown with Cornwallis' surrender and see the relief and joy from every person, young and old, now that they were free people in a their own nation.

  7. The time of George Washington and the foundation of a free country was not only an exciting point in America's history, but it was a thriving time in which the government was legitimately run under the priority of serving God. It would be so comforting to observe how the president led the country not simply because of how he wanted the country to be formed, but how the government could honestly accomodate everyones needs to the best of its abilities.

  8. I wanted to answer this because it's a really interesting question :) Ummm, I would want to travel back to the beginning of the Revolutionary War.. the Boston Tea Party to be exact. I think that being a part of that would be so exciting and the patriotism throughout the land would be invigorating.
